Which Option Is Right for My Loved One?

Below are the steps you should take when trying to determine which care option is best for your loved one:

  1. Assessing care needs: Begin by evaluating the specific needs of your loved one. Consider their physical health, cognitive condition, and daily living requirements. Do they need assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating? Is there a requirement for specialized memory care? Understanding these needs will help narrow down the most suitable care options.
  2. Consulting with health professionals: It's essential to consult healthcare providers who are familiar with your loved one's medical history. Their insight can be invaluable in determining the level of care that will best meet your loved one's needs. Whether it's long-term nursing care, rehabilitation services, or hospice care, professional advice can bring clarity to a confusing situation.
  3. Visiting facilities: We encourage families to visit our facility in Jackson Hole, WY, and take a comprehensive tour. Meeting our staff, observing the daily routine, and experiencing our environment firsthand can provide peace of mind and a better sense of what we offer. You can also opt for a virtual tour if that suits your schedule better.
  4. Considering emotional and social well-being: Beyond medical care, it's important to think about the emotional and social aspects of living in a senior care facility. Our array of daily planned activities, social programs, and community engagement opportunities are designed to enhance our residents' quality of life. Feeling connected and valued is essential for mental and emotional health.
  5. Financial considerations: Review the costs associated with each care option and compare them against your loved one's financial situation. Our services are affordable, and we accept most insurances, which can ease the financial burden of seeking specialized senior care.
  6. Seeking support and advice: Sometimes, talking to other families who have been through the same process can provide additional perspective and reassurance. Join support groups or seek testimonials from current residents' families to gain insight into their experiences.

  • Are the rooms at Sage Living Center fully furnished? Is there anything that residents need to bring other than personal items?

Rooms are fully furnished in Sage Living. Furniture in the room includes a hospital-type bed giving you or your care partners the ability to control bed height, incline and decline and small side-rails, if needed, for bed mobility. Beds are fully-outfitted with sheets, blankets, and a bedspread. Within your personal bathrooms are shelving for storage of bathroom items and towels. A moveable recliner chair and built-in shelves and drawers for storage of your clothing, shoes and personal items. Residents should plan to bring their clothing, shoes, seasonal outdoor attire like coats, hats, gloves and boots. Full laundry service is available in-house and provided by staff. Please bring your assistive devices as our therapy team will assess for proper fit and use in your new home.

  • What is the process for moving into Sage Living?

A journey into Sage Living starts with a relationship with our move-in team. We offer virtual or in-person visits and will look forward to offering tours of the community when available. Next, a prospective family completes an application. With the team, the application is reviewed for financial and medical qualification and fit into the community. Additional medical records may be requested.

  • Do you accept residents who require Medicaid to pay for their stay?

Yes, we are grateful to serve residents on Medicaid. However, to offer this incredible new home to the Jackson community, we must maintain a sustainable ratio of Medicaid and private pay. We give priority to our current residents transitioning to Medicaid and then to Teton County residents. Please still inquire as we will maintain a waiting list for both Medicaid and private pay.
